A Garden in Tamboerskloof

This post is in honour of Robbie Honey, who, in the six years we lived together, tried hard to teach me the names of some flowers.

On Sunday, I went to see some paintings in a house in Tamboerskloof*. The owner of the house runs a gallery. Once a year she covers the walls of her home in art from the gallery and opens it to the public. In the garden her husband serves punch and squidgies**. Will you still be my friend if I tell you I spent more time in the garden than inside (although I did enjoy looking at the paintings too)?

There were oranges,

Frangipani,

Moonflowers,

Nasturtiums,

Poppies,

Daisies (+my foot and my shadow).

Robbie, how did I do?

*Tamboerskloof is a very nice part of Cape Town, all white Victorian gabled houses and gorgeous views of Table Mountain. If I had several million to spend on a house here, this might well be where I would buy. Especially if the squidgies were thrown in to sweeten the deal.

**Squidgies are like a cross between a brownie and a flapjack.

  1. If you get me a recipe for squidgies, I'll bake 'em and put 'em up on my blog. And make my colleagues happy!
