School Shoes Appeal

Thabi, my friend and housemate, is organising to collect school shoes to distribute to schools in KwaZulu Natal, where's she from.

Read what she says below:

It is unthinkable that in this day we have millions of children who go to school without shoes due to poverty and unemployment; this puts our children at risk of losing interest in going to school and being exposed to criminal activities. In order to achieve our goal of putting shoes on the feet of every child in the identified schools below and making education possible for our young heroes we ask for assistance from you, friends and family to support us as we embark to collect 1530 school shoes for the disadvantaged children in Durban – Kwa Mashu.

She's asking friends and family to buy two pairs of shoes, one for a girl, one for a boy. She will be distributing the shoes next week.

I think it's a very simple idea, but very effective - and I thought some of you might be interested in helping. If you are, email me or leave a comment and I'll let you know how you can.
