Things I May Never Understand: Part 1

The Antipodean obsession with lawn bowls.  You might say there's a barrier between us.

  1. Behind the ancestral home in Belfast was a bowling green, the rituals of which were observed with disdain/amazement through the seasons from the Saturday sight of elderly men and ladies in full gear running after a tiny white ball, to the 3 melon carrying cases transported in and out during the season and then the year's care of the immaculate turf until the day the neighbour's oil tank leaked ... Since the a.h. didn't have central heating it clearly wasn't our problem!

  2. Former Kennedy, non-Antipodean?

I wonder if the bowling green in Belfast is still there.
