What Not to Say

This is a true story.

1^st person at party: I was at a bar last night, it was like something from the film Cocktail.

2^nd person at party: I don’t remember that one.

Eithne: It’s the one with Tom Cruise and … you know … that Australian guy.

[Much laughter at my expense.]

Hint: When you’re surrounded by 20 million Australians, referring to an actor as ‘that Australian guy’ will just make you the subject of mockery – in the nicest possible Australian way.
